QUEEN ANNE'S COUNTY FIRE DISPLACES FAMILY OF 3; CAUSE OF FIRE STILL UNDER INVESTIGATION

Queen Anne's County, MD - On May 11, 2025, a fire broke out at a two-story single-family residence on the 100 block of Walnut Street in Church Hill, Queen Anne's County, Maryland. This unfortunate incident resulted in significant financial loss, with estimated damages to the property and its contents totaling $810,000.
The fire, discovered by an occupant, originated at the rear of the house. The Church Hill Volunteer Fire Company, the primary responding fire department, dispatched 53 firefighters to combat the fire.
Despite their prompt response, it took approximately an hour and a half to bring the fire under control.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation, and no definitive explanation has been provided thus far. Although the smoke alarms effectively alerted the residents, the fire led to the displacement of three adult occupants. Fortunately, they are receiving support from neighbors, friends, and family during this difficult time.
