Queenstown Woman Arrested for Property Damage and Resisting Arrest
Queenstown, MD - A 56-year-old Queenstown, Maryland woman was arrested on October 17, 2025 following an incident involving property damage and failure to comply with police orders. Amber McKewen was taken into custody after a report of malicious destruction of property on Fallen Horse Circle.
Dispatch had advised that a female suspect was throwing paint on a vehicle. Upon arrival, DFC Coale spoke with the victim who reported that McKewen had splattered yellow spray paint onto his car while painting an object.
The victim indicated that he and McKewen were involved in multiple ongoing disputes. The officer observed extensive paint damage along the driver's side of the vehicle. Yellow paint covered the front fender, side windows, and rear quarter panel.
McKewen returned to the scene in her vehicle shortly after the officer's arrival. When DFC Coale made contact with McKewen and requested that she exit her vehicle, she refused. The officer then asked for identification, which McKewen also declined to provide. She was advised that failure to comply would result in arrest.
McKewen continued to refuse multiple lawful orders to exit the vehicle. She denied getting any paint on the victim's car. After further refusal to comply, she was placed under arrest.
During the incident, DFC Coale noted yellow paint on McKewen's foot that matched the paint found on the victim's vehicle. Video surveillance later obtained showed McKewen spray-painting items extensively. The footage revealed paint dripping on the asphalt and showed her flicking her wrist toward the victim's car, causing the paint splatters.
McKewen faces charges of malicious destruction of property, resisting arrest, and obstruction and hindering.
