Rehoboth Beach, DE - The Rehoboth Beach Police Department recently addressed two incidents that occurred between April 30th and May 2nd, 2025, to keep the community informed and assured of their commitment to safety. The department is dedicated to investigating all reports of criminal activity to ensure the security and peace of residents, visitors, and businesses.

On April 30th, officers were dispatched to Rodney Street following reports of numerous parking violations. They found approximately ten to twelve parking infractions and engaged with a large group of around 250 people on the beach. Despite the lively music and smoking on site, the group cooperated fully with the officers' requests.

Later that evening, another report indicated that some individuals from the group were urinating in the dunes. However, upon investigation, officers found no violations and remained on-site to monitor the situation. Unfortunately, the following morning, a significant amount of trash was left behind on the beach. Since no littering was observed at the time, no citations were issued.

A separate incident on May 2nd involved a large fight on Rehoboth Avenue. When officers arrived, they did not witness any active fighting but observed a crowd of about 100 people matching the description of the reported group.

Additional officers from the Delaware State Police and Dewey Beach Police assisted in peacefully dispersing the crowd.

During this incident, two victims were treated for minor injuries; however, they were uncooperative with the investigation. A third individual reported damage to their vehicle. The investigation into this incident is ongoing.
