RESIDENTIAL STRUCTURE FIRE IN CAROLINE COUNTY LEAVES ONE PERSON WITH MINOR INJURIES

Caroline County, MD - A structure fire broke out at a two-story duplex located in the 100 block of Mill Street in Greensboro, Caroline County, Maryland, on May 10, 2025, around 9:15 A.M.
The Greensboro Volunteer Fire Company responded to the call, deploying 43 firefighters from their fire department, along with assisting fire departments, to manage the situation.
The fire originated from the exterior of the building, and the cause is still under investigation.
The duplex consists of two units. One male occupant from unit 113-A was treated for smoke inhalation; fortunately, there were no other injuries reported.
He managed to escape the residence with the help of a neighbor who provided a ladder to assist him off the roof.
Meanwhile, the three occupants of unit 113-B were safely evacuated after being alerted by their neighbor from unit 113-A.
The fire caused an estimated $150,000 in damages to the structure and an additional $20,000 to its contents.
