Rockville Woman Arrested for DUI Following Hit and Run Investigation

EASTON, MD - The Easton Police Department arrested a 60-year-old Rockville woman on driving under the influence charges following a traffic incident that occurred on September 12, 2025.


Officers received a Be On the Look Out alert at approximately 4:22 pm regarding a grey Honda Civic traveling eastbound on Ocean Gateway near Dover Road.


The vehicle was reported to be swerving and crossing lane markers. Easton Police Department Officers positioned themselves in the area of the Days Inn and observed the Honda Civic traveling eastbound on Ocean Gateway near the Maryland State Police Easton Barracks.


During the investigation, officers received an additional alert from the Maryland State Police Centreville Barracks. The same vehicle had been identified as a suspect in a hit and run collision near Route 404. Officers conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver.


The driver was identified as Melissa L. Rizkallah of Rockville, Maryland. Following the investigation, Rizkallah was placed under arrest. She was charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol Per Se, Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, and related offenses.
