Cambridge, MD - On February 29, 2024, at approximately 3:19 am, Cambridge Police Department Officers were dispatched to the University of Maryland Shore Medical Center at Cambridge in reference to a subject trespassing on the property.

Upon arrival, officers met with security personnel, who reported that a patient who had been released earlier, was refusing to leave the property.

The subject was identified as Joshua Lee Speake, a 30 year old man from Salisbury, Maryland.

Security personnel requested that Speake leave the property multiple times, to which he refused. Officers from the Cambridge Police Department also informed Speake that he had to leave the premises where he also refused.

Due to the fact that Speake refused to leave and failed to obey the officers request, Speake was then placed under arrest for Trespassing.

Speake was transported to Cambridge Police Department for processing.  Speake was later released on a Criminal Citation being charged with Trespass Private Property.

Later that same day, about 5 hours later around 8:10 AM, Cambridge Police Department Officers responded to the WaWa in reference to a suspicious person.

Officers contacted management who reported a male subject who was acting disorderly in the store and had been knocking over items in the store.  The subject was identified as Joshua Lee Speake, the same individual from earlier at the hospital.

Management and Officers requested Speake to leave the property, which he refused to do so.

Speake was placed under arrest and transported to Cambridge Police Department for processing.

Speake had an initial appearance before a Court Commissioner instead of being issued a Criminal Citation, due to Speake already being issued a Criminal Citation for Trespassing earlier in the night.

Speake was released on $5,000.00 unsecured bond.  Speake was charged with the following:

  • Trespass Private Property

  • Failure to Obey Lawful Order
