Wicomico County, MD - A Salisbury, Maryland man received a 95-year prison sentence after being convicted of attempted murder and witness intimidation following a violent shooting that took place in 2023.

Tre Wallace, 37, was sentenced on September 29, 2025, in the Circuit Court for Wicomico County, Maryland. The charges included Attempted Murder in the First Degree, two counts of Attempted Murder in the Second Degree, Conspiracy to Commit Murder in the First Degree, Firearm Use in a Crime of Violence, two counts of Stalking, Witness Intimidation and related charges. Wallace was found guilty following a four-day jury trial in March 2025.

The Honorable S. James Sarbanes, Administrative Judge of the Circuit Court for Wicomico County, imposed a life sentence with all but 95 years suspended. Wallace will serve five years of supervised probation upon his release.

The incident began with Wallace stalking his estranged girlfriend's new boyfriend for approximately one month while planning an attack.

On November 20, 2023, Wallace executed his plan by having a family member drive him to his estranged girlfriend's residence in a vehicle he believed would not be recognized.

As the vehicle passed the home, Wallace opened fire on the couple. The boyfriend of Wallace's estranged girlfriend then pursued the fleeing vehicle in a high-speed chase that covered approximately five miles through Salisbury, Maryland.

During the pursuit, occupants of both vehicles exchanged gunfire.

Following the investigation conducted by the Salisbury Police Department, Wallace was arrested and charged. While in custody, he attempted to tamper with and threaten witnesses in an effort to obstruct justice.

State's Attorney Dykes commented on the sentencing: "This sentence reflects our community's intolerance for violent, calculated acts meant to destroy lives and instill fear. Tre Wallace's actions endangered not only his intended victims, but countless others in our community as bullets flew across city streets. Our Office remains firmly committed to holding offenders accountable to ensure that justice is done. Public safety is-and will continue to be-our highest priority."

State's Attorney Dykes recognized the Salisbury Police Department for their investigation work, specifically acknowledging Detective D. Fairman for his dedication and persistence.

The prosecution team of Senior Assistant State's Attorney Lauren Bourdon and Assistant State's Attorney Alexandra Stamnas was also commended for their advocacy in the case.
