Eden, MD - The Salisbury Paramedic Foundation has announced it will host its 1st Annual Gala event on Friday, September 19, 2025, at Bordeleau Vineyard & Winery, located in Eden, Maryland. Scheduled from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, the event aims to raise funds for vital emergency medical initiatives and scholarship opportunities for aspiring paramedics.

The gala will provide attendees with an evening of connection, wine, and philanthropy, bringing together community members who share a passion for supporting life-saving services.

Proceeds generated from this event will be allocated to three key initiatives designed to enhance emergency response capabilities and foster the development of future paramedics.

Key Initiatives Supported by the Gala

Community AED Initiative

The Foundation aims to equip public spaces throughout Salisbury and surrounding communities with 20 Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) in 2025. AEDs are crucial tools in cardiac emergencies, providing immediate, life-saving interventions before emergency medical services (EMS) reach the scene.

Portable Ultrasound Units for Salisbury EMS

Funds will also contribute to purchasing four portable ultrasound units, one for each Salisbury EMS vehicle. These advanced devices enable real-time diagnostic assessments, ensuring paramedics deliver accurate and timely care to critically ill or injured patients.

The Bryan Lewis Memorial Scholarship

Named in honor of Bryan Lewis, a dedicated and respected paramedic, this scholarship supports students enrolled in the Paramedic Program at Wor-Wic Community College. By reducing financial barriers, the scholarship promotes education and training for the next generation of paramedics while honoring Lewis's contributions to the field of emergency medical services.

A Message from Leadership

"Our Foundation is committed to improving emergency medical care and fostering the growth of those who dedicate their lives to it. This gala marks a significant step toward equipping first responders with cutting-edge technology and empowering future paramedics within our community," said Dr. Steve Hearne, Board President of the Salisbury Paramedic Foundation.

Tickets for the gala are now available, and space is limited. Community members are encouraged to reserve their tickets in advance. Additionally, donations are welcome and can be made directly through the Foundation's website.
