Salisbury Woman Charged with DUI Following Collision
Cambridge, MD - Cambridge Police responded to a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Route 50 and Meteor Avenue on January 19, 2026. The incident occurred at approximately 9:03 p.m.
Upon arrival, officers made contact with the driver involved in the crash. She was identified as 43-year-old Carlessa Renne Beckett of Salisbury, Maryland.
While speaking with Beckett, officers noted the odor of an alcoholic beverage on her breath. Beckett agreed to perform a Standardized Field Sobriety Test (SFST) at the scene.
However, officers report that she did not pass the test. She was placed under arrest and transported to the police department for processing. Beckett was later released on citations.
Beckett faces several charges stemming from the incident. These include driving a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and driving while impaired. She was also cited for negligent driving and making an unsafe lane change.
Additionally, Beckett has been charged with failure to transport a child under age 8 in a safety seat.
