Salisbury, MD - The Salisbury Zoo will host the Ben Layton Memorial 5K this weekend, an event that has become a community favorite since its inception in 2005.

Scheduled for Saturday, May 31, 2025, the event supports The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in memory of Benjamin Layton.

To ensure the safety and smooth operation of the event, there will be a temporary road closure. Memorial Plaza will be closed to traffic from North Park Drive to South Park Drive between 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Drivers planning to travel through this area are advised to consider alternative routes during that time.

The Salisbury Zoo will remain open throughout the event, inviting guests to explore its attractions while supporting this worthy cause. The run, titled "Racing for a Cure," is not only an opportunity for fitness enthusiasts to engage in a healthy activity, but it also serves as a platform for the community to unite for a meaningful purpose.
