Salisbury Zoo to Host Public Forum on Future Plans
Wicomico County, MD - The Salisbury Zoo invites the community to a public forum this month to discuss upcoming changes and long-term goals. The meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 28, at the Parkside High School Auditorium.
Zoo officials will provide an overview of several key initiatives, including recent updates to the facility and the institution's future direction. A major topic of discussion will be the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) reaccreditation process. The forum will also cover ongoing efforts to protect wildlife through specific education and conservation programs.
The session is designed to be both informational and planning-focused. Presenters will outline potential improvements intended to enhance animal care, guest experiences, and community engagement. Attendees are encouraged to ask questions and offer input to help shape the Zoo's continued growth.
"The Salisbury Zoo belongs to our community," said Zoo Director Chuck Eicholz. "We are all about listening, sharing information transparently, and working together to plan a future that reflects our mission and the needs of our visitors."
Families, stakeholders, neighbors, and Zoo supporters are all welcome to attend. Feedback gathered during the session will be used to inform planning efforts and guide future decision-making.
Community input is considered a vital part of the planning process. Residents can share their thoughts ahead of the forum by completing a brief survey online. The survey covers topics such as preferred animal exhibits, accessibility accommodations, and educational programming.
