SATURDAY AFTERNOON FIRE DESTROYS FAMILY HOME IN SALISBURY

Salisbury, MD - A residential structure fire broke out on April 13, 2024, at approximately 1:04 PM, in the 6000 block of Gloucester Court in Salisbury, Wicomico County, Maryland. 

The three-story, 2,850 square foot brick and wood framed single-family dwelling suffered extensive damage. Thankfully, there were no injuries as a result of this fire.

The fire caused an estimated structural loss of $270,000.00 and damaged contents worth $30,000.00. The smoke alarm in the dwelling was activated during the incident. 

The Salisbury Fire Department was the primary responding agency, but many agencies responded to assist. They dispatched 77 firefighters and three alarms to handle the fire, which took approximately 75 minutes to bring under control.

A neighbor discovered the fire, which had originated on the property's rear porch. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
