Scott M. Hamilton Announces Campaign for Sheriff of Wicomico County in 2026
Wicomico County, MD - Scott M. Hamilton has officially announced his candidacy for Sheriff of Wicomico County in the 2026 election, bringing with him more than two decades of local law enforcement experience and over 22 years of distinguished military service.
Hamilton dedicated 21 years to serving the residents of Wicomico County from within the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office, where he rose through the ranks and retired as a Corporal. His career in public service also includes extensive military leadership, retiring as a Chief Warrant Officer 3 in the Maryland Army National Guard.
In addition to his law enforcement and military service, Hamilton currently serves as President of the Wicomico County Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge #111, where he continues to advocate for law enforcement professionals and public safety across the community.
With a background rooted in leadership, service, and commitment to the citizens of Wicomico County, Hamilton is entering the race with a clear focus on strengthening public safety, supporting deputies, and building strong relationships throughout the community.
