Seaford Man Arrested Following Assault on EMT

Seaford, DE - The Delaware State Police have arrested a 37-year-old man from Seaford, Delaware, in connection with an assault on an emergency medical technician (EMT). The incident occurred late on the evening of January 21, 2026.

Troopers responded to a call at the 10000 block of Serenity Circle in Seaford at approximately 10:50 p.m. Reports indicated that a person was acting aggressively inside an ambulance. Upon arrival, officers determined that Nathan Ennels was receiving medical treatment when the altercation took place.

During the treatment, Ennels allegedly struck an EMT in the face. The assault resulted in minor injuries to the medical responder and caused damage to their eyewear. Ennels was subsequently transported to a local hospital for further care.

Following his release from the hospital on January 22, Ennels was taken to Troop 5. He faced arraignment at Justice of the Peace Court 2 on charges related to the incident. Authorities released him on a $3,000 unsecured bond.

Ennels was charged with the following:

  • Assault 2nd - Injuring an EMT (Felony)
  • Criminal Mischief under $1,000
