Seaford Man Arrested for Felony Drug Charges after Search Warrant Execution

Seaford, Delaware - The Delaware State Police have arrested Robert Mumford, a 48-year-old resident of Seaford, on multiple felony drug charges following the execution of a search warrant on Friday, August 1, 2025.


The search warrant was carried out at a residence on the 10000 block of Old Furnace Road in Seaford by members of the Sussex County Drug Unit, Sussex County Governor's Task Force, and the Delaware State Police Special Operations Response Team.


The search and subsequent arrest followed an investigation that linked Mumford to the distribution of illegal narcotics from the residence. Upon executing the search warrant, law enforcement officials detained two individuals inside the residence, including Mumford, and discovered a child present at the scene.


A comprehensive search of the property, including vehicles on the premises, resulted in the seizure of the following items:


  • Approximately 43.38 grams of heroin  
  • Approximately 16.87 grams of powder cocaine  
  • Approximately 11.04 grams of crack cocaine  
  • Approximately 26.81 grams of marijuana  
  • .22 caliber ammunition  
  • Drug paraphernalia  
  • A digital scale  
  • $793.00 in suspected drug proceeds  


Authorities noted that Mumford is prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition due to prior convictions for violent crimes or felonies.


Mumford was arrested at the scene and transported to Delaware State Police Troop 4 for processing. He was subsequently arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $123,200 cash bond.
