Seaford Police Arrest Dover Man on Firearm and Drug Charges Following Traffic Stop

Seaford, DE - On July 31, 2025, at approximately 1:52 a.m., a Seaford Police Department officer observed a vehicle traveling northbound on Bridgeville Highway fail to come to a complete stop at the intersection of Virginia Avenue and Bridgeville Highway in Seaford, Delaware.
While following the vehicle, the officer noted that it executed several abrupt and aggressive maneuvers before quickly turning into the parking lot of the Seaford Meadows Apartment Complex. The officer activated his emergency lights and positioned his patrol vehicle behind the suspect's car as it parked.
The driver, later identified as Sherwood Holley, 23, of Dover, DE, exited the vehicle and began walking away.

- 30 mg of amphetamines
- Drug paraphernalia
- Approximately $660 in suspected drug proceeds
Further investigation revealed that Holley is a person legally prohibited from possessing firearms due to a prior criminal history involving drug and weapons-related charges.
He was taken into custody and charged with multiple offenses, including:
- Possession of a firearm by a person prohibited
- Possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony
- Possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance
- Carrying a concealed deadly weapon
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
