Seaford Police Arrest Local Teen for Drug Possession Following Traffic Stop

Seaford, DE - Seaford police apprehended a 19-year-old local resident after uncovering a significant quantity of suspected marijuana during a traffic stop.
On July 16, 2025, a Seaford Police Department officer was conducting routine patrols in the vicinity of Woolford Street when a vehicle was observed operating with a suspended registration. The officer initiated a traffic stop, during which the driver was identified as Marques Dean, a 19-year-old resident of Seaford, Delaware.
Due to the vehicle's suspended registration, it was impounded and subjected to a search.
During the search, authorities discovered approximately 525 grams (equivalent to about 1.16 pounds) of suspected marijuana.
As a result, Marques Dean was taken into custody and charged with the following offenses:
- Possession of a controlled substance in a tier 1 quantity (felony)
- Possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance (felony)
- Associated traffic violations
Dean was subsequently arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 2, where he was released on his own recognizance pending further legal proceedings.
