Seaford Police Arrest Man on Drug Charges Following Traffic Stop

Seaford, DE - On Thursday, February 5, 2026, officers from the Seaford Police Department arrested a man on multiple drug-related charges. The incident occurred at approximately 9:40 p.m. when an officer noticed a parked vehicle with the engine running.

A check of the vehicle's registration flagged the registered owner as having active warrants.

The officer approached the vehicle and made contact with the sole occupant, identified as Aruis Cannon. After confirming Cannon's warrant status, officers detained him at the scene.

A subsequent search of the vehicle yielded significant quantities of illegal substances. Police recovered 14.2 grams of crack cocaine and 1.17 grams of suspected heroin. Officers also found paraphernalia associated with drug distribution inside the car.

Following the discovery, Cannon was arrested and faces several charges. These include possession of a controlled substance in Tier 1 and Tier 2 quantities, possession with intent to distribute in Tier 1 and Tier 2 quantities, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was also charged as a fugitive from another state.

Cannon was arraigned at the Justice of the Peace Court 11. A secured bond was set at $38,500. The Seaford Police Department is asking anyone with information regarding this case or other criminal activity to come forward.
