Seaford Police Arrest Man with Stolen Firearm

Seaford, DE- On Saturday, February 21, 2026 at approximately 9:47 am, a Seaford Police Officer stopped a Nissan Maxima traveling on Chandler St in Seaford, Delaware. The reason the officer stopped the vehicle was because it had expired registration/tags.

The officer conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the operator, Junior Thelemarque. While speaking with the operator, a Seaford Police Department K9 arrived on scene and scanned the vehicle.
As a result of the K9 scan, the dog alerted to the presence of the odor of narcotics. The alert provided probable cause and as a result, Officers searched the vehicle.

During the search, officers located a 9mm handgun that was reported stolen from Delaware State Police jurisdiction. Multiple items of drug paraphernalia were also located in the vehicle.

Thelemarque was arrested and charged with the following:

• Receiving a Stolen Firearm (Felony F)
• Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony (Felony B)
• Possession of a Deadly Weapon by Person Prohibited Who Also Possesses Controlled Substance (Felony C)
• Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited x2 (Felony D)
• Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon (Felony D)
• Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Misdemeanor)
• Expired Tags (Violation)

He was arraigned out of Justice of the Peace Court 3 and issued a cash bond for $92,201.00.
