Seaford Police Arrest Teen on Weapons and Drug Charges Following Traffic Stop

Seaford, MD - The Seaford Police Department has arrested 19-year-old Jai'Don Major of Hurlock, Maryland. He faces multiple weapons and drug charges stemming from a traffic stop conducted early Saturday morning.

On January 10, 2026, just after midnight, a patrol officer initiated a stop on a vehicle traveling east on West Stein Highway. The stop was conducted because the vehicle had a non-functioning headlight. During the interaction, the officer detected the odor of burnt marijuana emanating from the interior of the vehicle.

Major informed the officer during the stop that he possessed a concealed firearm. He was subsequently detained. A search of his person revealed a 9mm "Ghost" handgun and a 30-round magazine. A further search of the vehicle uncovered ammunition of various calibers, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.

Major was transported to the Seaford Police Department for processing. He has been charged with Carrying a Concealed Deadly Firearm, Possession of an Untraceable Firearm, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, and Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited.

Additional charges include Possession of a Large Capacity Magazine, Possession of a Large Capacity Magazine during the Commission of a Felony, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Marijuana possession, and related traffic offenses.

Following his arrest, Major was presented to a judge at Justice of the Peace Court 11. He was committed to the Department of Corrections on $53,200.00 cash-only bail. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
