Sheriff's Office Concludes Investigation into Social Media Posts at Queen Anne's County Schools

Queen Anne's County, MD - The Queen Anne's County Office of the Sheriff has completed its investigation into recent social media posts involving a student within the Queen Anne's County Public School District. The investigation determined that there is no active threat to the school community.
The Sheriff's Office initiated a comprehensive investigation immediately after becoming aware of the social media posts. The investigation process included home visits, interviews with students and their guardians, and the execution of search warrants when necessary. All potential threats are taken seriously by law enforcement officials.
Additional law enforcement resources were deployed to schools to reinforce the commitment to safety for students, staff, and the community. The investigative steps have been completed, and appropriate actions have been taken based on the findings.
The Sheriff's Office does not typically issue public statements for every investigation, particularly those involving juveniles or cases that do not result in criminal charges.
However, officials chose to provide this reassurance due to community concern. The role of the Sheriff's Office is to investigate reports, determine whether a criminal violation has occurred, and take appropriate action as needed.
All matters related to school discipline, student conduct, and internal safety protocols remain the responsibility of Queen Anne's County Public Schools. Questions or concerns regarding these topics should be directed to the Coordinator of School Safety and Security, Mr. Joe Saboury, at joseph.saboury@qacps.org.
Students and staff are encouraged to report concerning information directly to their School Resource Officer, a trusted staff member, or through the Safe Schools Maryland Tip Line. Officials discourage reposting or sharing unverified information online, as this can cause unnecessary fear, confusion, and disruption within schools and the community.
The Safe Schools Maryland Tip Line operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. This confidential resource allows anyone to report concerns related to school or student safety. Immediate threats should be reported to 911.
The tip line can be reached at 1-833-MD-B-SAFE (1-833-632-7233) or through the website at www.SafeSchoolsMD.org.
