SHERRONTE ROBINS SENTENCED TO 40 YEARS FOR SECOND-DEGREE MURDER

W. Ocean City, MD - On Wednesday, July 5, 2023, Sherronte Robins, age 41, of Stockton, Maryland, was sentenced to serve 40 years in the Division of Correction for his conviction on the charges of second-degree murder, first-degree assault, second-degree assault, and reckless endangerment.He was found guilty by a jury after a 3-day trial was held in March. The Honorable Beau H. Oglesby of the Worcester County Circuit Court presided over the case and imposed the sentence.The charges were filed as a result of police being dispatched to a motel in West Ocean City on January 24, 2022, for a reported assault.Upon arrival, deputies from the Worcester County Sheriff's Office observed a male victim, later identified as Nicholas Allen Pittman, lying on the ground, unresponsive, with a stab wound to the neck area. Mr. Pittman was pronounced deceased shortly thereafter by emergency services.Investigators from the Maryland State Police Homicide Unit assumed the investigation and located dramatic surveillance video from the motel showing Pittman exiting Sherronte Robins' room at the motel while holding his throat and eventually collapsing to the ground.Robins can be seen on the video throwing an object out of his apartment, which was recovered by police and found to be a 10-inch steak knife covered in blood. Robins was still located on scene and was immediately taken into custody.Worcester County State's Attorney Kris Heiser thanked the Worcester County Sheriff's Office, the Maryland State Police, and Det.
