Shoplifting Investigation Leads to Drug and Weapons Charges

Rehoboth Beach, DE - Officers from the Rehoboth Beach Police Department responded to a shoplifting report on October 1, 2025, at approximately 7:55 am. The incident occurred in the 400 block of Rehoboth Avenue.


Police located the suspect in the immediate area following the initial report. The individual was identified as Korey Edge, a 25-year-old resident of Harrington, Delaware.


During the investigation, officers discovered Edge was carrying suspected methamphetamine and related drug paraphernalia. He was also found in possession of a folding knife with a blade exceeding 3.75 inches that had attached metal knuckles.


Edge was arrested without incident and faces multiple charges. The felony charges include possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, possession of a deadly weapon by a person prohibited, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, and possession of a controlled substance in a tier 1 quantity.


Additional charges include possession of drug paraphernalia not related to marijuana and shoplifting under $1,500, both classified as misdemeanors.


Edge was released on an $8,000 unsecured bond and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
