Single-Vehicle Crash in Delmar Results in Fatality
Delmar, DE - Delaware State Police are investigating a single-vehicle fatal crash that occurred on Sussex Highway yesterday evening.
The incident took place on November 13, 2025, at approximately 5:12 p.m. A GMC Sierra was traveling northbound on Sussex Highway, approaching the intersection of West Snake Road.
For reasons that remain under investigation, the vehicle veered off the west side of the roadway, crossed the median, and entered the southbound lanes. The truck then exited the west side of the road and collided with a tree.
The driver, a 30-year-old man from Georgetown, Delaware, was pronounced deceased at the scene. His identity is being withheld pending notification of his family.
As a result of the crash, Sussex Highway was closed for approximately four hours while investigators processed and cleared the scene.
The Delaware State Police Troop 7 Collision Reconstruction Unit is continuing its investigation into the incident. Authorities are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash or possesses relevant information to contact Sergeant A. Mitchell at (302) 703-3269.
