Single-Vehicle Fatal Crash Under Investigation Near Bridgeville

Bridgeville, DE - The Delaware State Police are conducting an investigation into a fatal single-vehicle crash that occurred near Bridgeville early on the morning of July 12, 2025. The crash resulted in the death of a 27-year-old man.
According to the preliminary investigation, the incident took place at approximately 5:00 a.m. A Buick Century was traveling southbound on Wilson Farm Road toward Cannon Road at an apparent high rate of speed. The vehicle failed to stop at the stop sign at the Cannon Road intersection, continued onto the east side of Conrail Road, and then re-entered the roadway.
The Buick subsequently rotated clockwise, exited the west side of Conrail Road, collided with a concrete barrier, and overturned.
The driver, who was a resident of Bridgeville, was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. He was pronounced dead on the scene. Authorities have withheld the individual's name pending notification of his family.
The accident resulted in significant road closures, as Conrail Road, Wilson Farm Road, and Cannon Road were shut down for approximately three and a half hours. The areas were reopened after police completed the investigation and cleared the scene.
The Delaware State Police Troop 7 Collision Reconstruction Unit is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident. Authorities are requesting assistance from individuals who may have witnessed the crash or have additional information.
