Somerset County, MD - Somerset County Public Schools (SCPS) Superintendent W. David Bromwell will host a series of community forums this April. These events will provide updates on the FY27 operating budget and the school system's organizational structure.

Information will also be shared regarding the alignment of SCPS priorities with the Maryland Blueprint for Education.

The forums are organized to explain how resources are allocated to support student learning. Attendees will be given the opportunity to ask questions directly to system leadership.

Details concerning the budget development process and the current organizational chart will be discussed during the presentations. The alignment of programs, staffing, and services with Maryland Blueprint funding requirements will also be reviewed.

"These forums are an opportunity for us to share information, answer questions, and continue strengthening our partnership with the community," said Superintendent W. David Bromwell. "We want families and stakeholders to understand how our budget and organizational structure support the work happening in our schools and align with the goals of the Maryland Blueprint."

Families, staff members, and community residents are invited to attend the sessions. The forums are scheduled at the following locations and times:

  • Greenwood Elementary School on Monday, April 20, 2026, at 5:00 PM.
