STATE FIRE MARSHALS OFFICE IS INVESTIGATING A HEBRON HOUSE FIRE THAT THEY BELIEVE WAS INCENDIARY

Hebron, MD - On May 26, 2025, a fire broke out at a vacant three-story, single-family dwelling located in the 300 block of Chestnut Street, Hebron, Wicomico County, Maryland. The fire occurred at approximately 3:59 am, with the Hebron Volunteer Fire Department being one of the first on the scene, assisted by several local fire departments.
Despite the challenging circumstances, the team comprised of 47 brave firefighters managed to bring the situation under control in 45 minutes.
The fire, which originated from the interior of the building, has been labeled as incendiary in nature. The swift and effective response of the Hebron Volunteer Fire Department was crucial in preventing further damage, although the structure suffered an estimated loss of $40,000.
