Pittsville, MD - On June 19, 2023, at approximately 11:18 PM, firefighters from the Pittsville Volunteer Fire Department responded to the 34000 block of Railroad Avenue for a reported house fire. The structure was a one-story wood frame single-family home that was actively on fire.The fire was one alarm and took approximately 25 firefighters 30 minutes to get the scene under control.The fire originally started on a rear exterior wall and was ruled accidental due to an unspecified failure of a branch electrical circuit.As a result of the fire, there is an estimated loss of $85,000 in structural damage and another $15,000 in loss of contents.One juvenile occupant was evaluated by EMS at the scene.
