Sharptown, MD - On June 20, 2023, at approximately 3:59 AM, firefighters from the Sharptown Volunteer Fire Department responded to the 200 block of Joe Morgan Rd in Sharptown, MD, for a reported house fire. The structure was a one-story wood frame single-family home that was actively on fire.The fire was 1 alarm and took approximately 35 firefighters 30 minutes to get the scene under control.The fire started on a rear exterior deck and was ruled accidental due to embers from a nearby fire pit.As a result of the fire, there is an estimated loss of $95,000 in structural damage and another $5,000 in loss of contents.The home was unoccupied at the time of the fire.© Eastern Shore Undercover LLC TM/SM.
