State Highway Administration to Lower Speed Limit on US 50 Business in Wicomico County

Wicomico County, MD - On Friday, March 13, the speed limit on US 50 Business (East Salisbury Parkway/Ocean Gateway) will be lowered by the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration.

The affected route is located between Civic Avenue and Hobbs Road in Salisbury, Maryland.

The speed limit will be reduced from 55 mph to 45 mph. This operational change was determined following the recent completion of a traffic study on this 2.7-mile section of the roadway.

The speed reduction is intended to improve overall safety for all highway users.

New signs will be installed along the corridor to reflect the update. These signs will display the new speed limit of 45 mph to properly alert motorists of the regulation change.
