Structure Fire at Vacant Residence in Talbot County
OXFORD, MD - A structure fire caused significant damage to a vacant residence in Talbot County late Tuesday night. The incident occurred at approximately 11:04 p.m. on February 3, 2026, in the 29000 block of Almshouse Road.
The Trappe Volunteer Fire Company responded to the scene after a neighbor contacted 911.
Upon arrival, firefighters encountered a two-story, single-family home with a basement. Sixty-two firefighters worked for one hour and 45 minutes to bring the blaze under control.
The residence was vacant at the time of the fire. The estimated damage to the structure is $100,000. The status of smoke alarms within the home remains unknown.
