Structure Fire Reported at Queenstown Residence
Queen Anne's County, MD - On March 8, 2026, at approximately 12:47 p.m., a structure fire occurred at a one-story, single-family dwelling located on Scottown Road in Queenstown, Queen Anne's County, Maryland.
The fire was discovered by the occupant, who was outside the residence at the time of the incident. The occupant immediately contacted 911.
Preliminary investigations determined that the fire originated in the attic as a result of an electrical failure.
The Queenstown Volunteer Fire Department served as the primary responding agency. A total of 25 firefighters responded to the single-alarm incident. The fire was brought under control in 29 minutes.
Property damage is estimated at $90,000 for the structure and $15,000 for the contents. A smoke alarm was present inside the dwelling but did not activate. The residence was not equipped with a fire alarm or sprinkler system.
