Structure Fire Under Investigation at Salisbury Residence

Wicomico County, MD - The State Fire Marshal's Office is investigating a structure fire that occurred on February 27, 2026, at a residential property located in the 500 block of East William Street in Salisbury, Wicomico County, Maryland.

The incident was reported at 4:44 PM at a two-story, wood frame, single-family dwelling. Neighbors discovered the fire and alerted authorities.

The Salisbury Fire Department responded to the scene with 35 firefighters, bringing the fire under control within 25 minutes.

The fire originated on the first floor of the residence. Both the smoke alarm and fire alarm were present and activated during the incident. Two occupants were displaced as a result of the fire.

Preliminary damage estimates indicate a loss of $70,000 to the structure and $30,000 to the contents. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
