Cambridge, MD - On March 19, 2024, just after 11:10 AM, law enforcement officers from the Cambridge Police Department (CPD) responded to a disturbance call at the 700 block of Peachblossom Avenue.

At that location, Officers arrested Daejawhn Kuree Butler, a 24-year-old resident of Lexington Park, MD. Butler was wanted on multiple arrest warrants. During the search incident to the arrest, Officers found Butler unlawfully in possession of a prescription pill, categorized as a controlled dangerous substance.

Upon his arrest, Butler was transported to the Police Department for processing. In addition to his outstanding warrants, he was issued a Criminal Citation for Controlled Dangerous Substance (CDS) possession not related to cannabis.

One of Butler's warrants was a Dorchester County District Court Bench Warrant. It was issued due to Butler's failed court appearance on September 14, 2022, initially on a charge of CDS Possession Not Cannabis. Butler had been released on a $2,000.00 unsecured bond.

Two more arrest warrants were found against Butler, issued from Calvert County and St. Mary's County. These warrants were used as a detainer, leading to Butler being handed over to the Dorchester County Department of Corrections. The procedures for these warrants are due to be served in their respective counties.
