Cambridge, MD - The Cambridge Police Department has arrested Davonta Lamar Harper, a 30-year-old Cambridge resident, for multiple counts of Assault and Reckless Endangerment.

At around 8:16 am on the 28th of April 2024, Cambridge Police Department (CPD) officers were called to a physical disturbance on Wood Duck Dr. The victim alleged that they were first strangled and then the next day, they were repeatedly beaten by Harper, by being punched in the face and back.

Injuries observed on the victim by CPD officers matched their account of events, providing visual evidence of the attacks.

Harper was arrested, processed at the CPD, and had his initial court appearance. In a bid to ensure public safety, Harper was denied bail, and the Dorchester County Department of Corrections has since taken custody of him.

The charges pressed against him include Assault in both the first and second degrees, along with reckless endangerment.

All parties in this report are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
