SUSPECT IDENTIFIED IN DOWNTOWN PARKING GARAGE TRASH CAN FIRE

Wicomico County, MD - A fire incident occurred in a Downtown Salisbury parking garage involving a 55-gallon commercial refuse container. The fire, identified as incendiary, took place on April 17, 2025.
Fortunately, the structural damage was minimal, with estimated content losses around $600.
The fire was discovered by a Salisbury City Ambassador on April 18 at 10:30 AM. An initial assessment revealed that a rubber tire on a nearby dry chemical fire extinguisher cart had also suffered heat damage.
Deputy State Fire Marshals were called to assist the Salisbury Police Department in processing the scene. The incident was documented on April 18, 2025, and investigation efforts began after the discovery of CCTV footage that captured the arson event.
Thanks to the footage, the individual responsible for starting the fire was identified, and authorities began the process of pursuing charges against them.
