Talbot County Sheriff's Office Deputy Completes D.A.R.E. Instructor Training

EASTON, MD. - A Talbot County Sheriff's Office deputy has recently completed the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) Instructor Training Program. Deputy First Class (DFC) Ryan Andrew graduated from the two-week course on September 26, 2025. The training was held at the Maryland Police and Correctional Training Commission in Sykesville, Maryland. The program certifies law enforcement officers to teach the D.A.R.E. curriculum, which focuses on helping students make safe and responsible decisions regarding drugs and peer pressure. With this certification, DFC Andrew is now qualified to serve as a D.A.R.E. instructor in Talbot County schools. This new role aligns with the Sheriff's Office's ongoing efforts to promote education and build trust within the community. "DFC Andrew's accomplishment strengthens our department's ability to connect with students in a meaningful way," said Sheriff Joe Gamble. "The D.A.R.E. program continues to be a vital part of our community policing and prevention efforts, and we're proud to have him represent our agency in this important role." The Talbot County Sheriff's Office stated its dedication to providing proactive educational programs that encourage safety and positive decision-making for the youth in the county.
