Three Suspects Arrested Following Armed Robbery at Fruitland Business

FRUITLAND, MD - The Fruitland Police Department has arrested three individuals in connection with an armed robbery at a local tobacco and vape store.

The incident occurred on November 23, 2025. Officers responded to an emergency call at the business and immediately began gathering evidence. Police identified three suspects within approximately one day of the initial report.

Following a month-long investigation involving allied agencies, officers confirmed the involvement of the suspects. Police arrested Rodney Jarvi III, 19, and Bryan Sturgis Jr, 19. A third juvenile suspect was also arrested and charged. A firearm was recovered during the investigation.

Jarvi was initially held without bond on December 5, 2025, then on December 8, 2025, he had a bail review and again was ordered to be held without bond.

Sturgis was initially held without bond on December 16, 2025, then on December 17, 2025, he had a bail review and again was ordered to be held without bond.

Sturgis also has an open criminal case in Somerset County from August 2025, where he was charged with multiple firearms offenses. In those cases, he was released on his own recognizance.

Police state there is currently no perceived threat to the community regarding this matter. While a significant amount of evidence has been collected, the investigation remains ongoing.
