TRAFFIC STOP IN GEORGETOWN ENDS WITH ARREST OF ROBBERY SUSPECT

Georgetown, DE - A man from Georgetown has been arrested on multiple charges, including robbery and weapons violations.


On April 28, 2025, at approximately 10:52 a.m., a Georgetown police officer observed a vehicle being driven on North Bedford Street with an expired registration. After conducting a traffic stop, the officer discovered that the passenger, identified as Michael Hill, had an active warrant for first-degree robbery.


When Hill was removed from the vehicle and taken into custody, authorities found that he was carrying a loaded .45-caliber handgun. The investigation revealed that Hill was wanted in connection with a robbery incident that occurred on April 26, 2025, during which he allegedly assaulted a victim and fled with the victim's money.


Hill now faces several charges, including possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession and control of a firearm by a prohibited person, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, unsafe storage of a firearm in a vehicle, possession of drug paraphernalia, and first-degree robbery.


He has been committed to Sussex Correctional Institution under a secure bond for this incident and the outstanding robbery warrant. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding these events.
