Queen Anne's County, MD - On Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at approximately 11:19 a.m., Deputy First Class Leshinskie of the Queen Anne's County Sheriff's Office was conducting routine traffic enforcement in the vicinity of Main Street and Marshy Creek Road in Grasonville, Maryland.

During this operation, DFC Leshinskie observed a vehicle traveling without a front registration plate and with a nonfunctioning brake light. A traffic stop was initiated, and contact was made with the vehicle's occupants, later identified as Whitney Fleishman and Jennifer Bailey.

Upon initial questioning, the driver, Whitney Fleishman, provided false identification by giving an incorrect name and date of birth. However, further investigation revealed her true identity through a Motor Vehicle Administration (MVA) photo comparison.

Deputies requested additional documents to confirm Fleishman's identity, at which point she retrieved a backpack. Notably, an open pocket on the bag revealed a controlled dangerous substance (CDS) in plain view, as observed by Sergeant Patchett.

Based on this observation, a probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted. Deputies uncovered various items believed to be crack cocaine, along with paraphernalia.

Additional documents located within the vehicle confirmed Fleishman's true name. Both occupants were subsequently placed under arrest.

Further search efforts revealed additional CDS and paraphernalia on Jennifer Bailey's person. The items were recovered by Deputy Lane during the incident.

  • Whitney Fleishman was charged with the following:
    • CDS Possession (Not Cannabis) - Three Counts
    • CDS Paraphernalia Possession - Two Counts
    • Fraudulent Identity to Avoid Prosecution
    • Obstructing or Hindering a Police Officer
  • Jennifer Bailey was charged with the following:
    • CDS Possession (Not Cannabis) - One Count
    • CDS Paraphernalia Possession - Seven Counts

Both Fleishman and Bailey were also held on two outstanding warrants each. Fleishman and Bailey have both been held without bond, pending court trials.
