Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Possession Charge in Cambridge, MD

Cambridge, Maryland - On August 1, 2025, at approximately 1:42 a.m., officers from the Cambridge Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling on US Route 50, just before the Malkus Bridge, for a traffic violation.


Upon initiating the stop, officers identified the driver as 32-year-old Cheyenne Christine Marie Caleb of Cambridge, Maryland. Other occupants were also present in the vehicle.


During the stop, a K9 Unit from the Dorchester County Sheriff's Office was requested to conduct a K9 sniff of the vehicle to detect the presence of Controlled Dangerous Substances (CDS). The K9 provided a positive alert for CDS, prompting officers to search the vehicle.


The search resulted in the discovery of a quantity of Cocaine. Caleb admitted to possessing the Cocaine.

Following the incident, Caleb was charged with CDS Possession Not Cannabis. She was released on a Criminal Citation pending further legal proceedings.


Authorities continue to emphasize their commitment to addressing illegal drug activity in the area. No further details regarding the incident or the other vehicle occupants have been released at this time.
