Two Arrested in Connection with Armed Menacing Incident in Milford

Milford, DE - Milford Police have arrested two suspects following an armed confrontation that occurred on Friday night in the 300 block of NW 2nd Street. The incident began on October 17, 2025, at approximately 10:13 p.m. when three victims contacted police. The victims reported they were sitting in their vehicle when an SUV approached their location.

A suspect, later identified as a 17-year-old male, exited the SUV and pointed a handgun at one of the victims. The suspect demanded the victims exit their vehicle. The victims refused to comply and drove away from the scene.

Milford Police were told a second suspect was also involved in the incident. Investigators worked to identify the first suspect and obtained an arrest warrant for the 17-year-old male.

On October 20, 2025, the suspect arrived at Milford High School for classes. The School Resource Officer immediately took him into custody upon his arrival.

Officers conducted a lawful search of the suspect's vehicle, which was parked on school property. The search revealed two handguns and ammunition inside the vehicle. Both firearms lacked serial numbers and are considered untraceable weapons.

The 17-year-old male faces multiple felony charges. These include three counts of possession, purchase, and control of a firearm by a person under 21, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and aggravated menacing.

Additional charges include conspiracy in the second degree, two counts of possession of ammunition by a person under 21, and possession of a large capacity magazine during the commission of a felony. The suspect also faces two counts each of carrying a concealed deadly weapon, possession of a firearm in a safe recreation zone, and possession of an untraceable firearm.

The juvenile appeared before Justice of the Peace Court 7 and was committed to the Delaware Division of Youth Rehabilitative Services at Stevenson House Detention Center. His bond was set at $69,500 cash. A no contact order was issued between the juvenile and the victims, including all schools and district offices within the Milford School District.

The suspect was scheduled to appear in Kent County Family Court on October 21, 2025, for a bail review hearing.

Police successfully identified the second suspect as Ivan Salez, 19, of Milford, Delaware. Officers arrested Salez at his residence on October 21, 2025. He was charged with aggravated menacing and conspiracy in the second degree, both felony charges.

Salez appeared before Justice of the Peace Court 2 and was committed to the Department of Correction with a $5,000 cash bond. A no contact order was also issued between Salez and the victims. He is scheduled to appear in Kent County Court of Common Pleas for a preliminary hearing at a later date.
