Two Dead, Two Injured in Three-Vehicle Crash in Georgetown

GEORGETOWN, DE - The Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal three-vehicle crash that occurred Sunday afternoon in Georgetown, resulting in the death of two men.


The incident took place on October 5, 2025, at approximately 3:00 p.m. According to the preliminary investigation, a Hyundai Sonata was stopped at a stop sign on northbound West Robbins Road at the intersection with Redden Road. At the same time, a Volkswagen Tiguan was traveling westbound and a Toyota Corolla was traveling eastbound on Redden Road, both approaching the intersection.


Investigators determined that the Hyundai failed to remain stopped and entered the intersection, where it struck the Volkswagen. The impact caused the Volkswagen to overturn multiple times before rolling onto the Toyota.


The driver of the Toyota, an unidentified man, was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the Toyota, a 31-year-old man from Georgetown, was also pronounced dead at the scene. His name is being withheld pending notification of his family.


The driver of the Volkswagen, a 70-year-old man, and his passenger, a 59-year-old woman, both from Ocean View, were transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Hyundai, a 57-year-old woman from Bloomfield, New Jersey, was not injured in the collision.


The roadway was closed for approximately 3.5 hours to allow for investigation and clearing of the scene.


The Delaware State Police Troop 7 Collision Reconstruction Unit is continuing its investigation into the crash.
