Pocomoke, MD - On January 23, 2024, at approximately 4:20 am, law enforcement personnel from the Pocomoke City Police Department were dispatched to a residence located in the 900 block of 2^nd Street in Pocomoke City, Maryland, about an assault. 

As law enforcement was responding, a second call revealed a gunshot victim was located in the area of Clarke Avenue in Pocomoke, Maryland. The gunshot victim was transported by EMS to Tidal Health and then later transported to Maryland Shock Trauma for treatment. 

During this investigation, Deputies from the Worcester County Bureau of Investigation assumed the investigation, with assistance from the Pocomoke Police Department and the Ocean City Police Department Forensics Unit. 

As a result of this investigation, Darrius Rayon Johnson (18 years of age) of Pocomoke, Maryland and Ieassha Latoya Johnson (39 years of age) of Pocomoke, Maryland were subsequently apprehended and charged with the following:

Both Darrius Johnson and Ieassha Johnson were committed to the Worcester County Jail, where they are being held without bond.
