US Secret Service Shoots Man That Breached Security Fences at Mar-A-Lago
National News - Early reports coming out of Palm Beach, Florida is that around 1:30 AM on February 22, 2026, a man in his 20's breached the security fences at Mar-A-Lago, President Trumps Palm Beach residence, and was shot by United States Secret Service Agents and a Palm Beach Sheriff's Deputy. US Secret Service have not identified the individual as they attempt to notify the next of kin.
The individual was in possession of what appeared to be a shotgun and a fuel can. The individual was ordered to drop the items he had in his hands, at which time he placed the gas can on the ground. He then raised the shotgun and pointed it towards law enforcement officers and was eliminated.
President Donald Trump and the first lady Melania were not at Mar-A-Lago. They are safe at this time.
Additionally, US Secret Service stated that no other secret service protected individuals were present at the location at the time of the incident. No other injuries have been reported.
The FBI will be investigating this with the assistance of United States Secret Service Agents and Palm Beach Sheriff's Office.
