Van Theft and Confrontation Leads to Arrest in Caroline County

Greensboro, MD - Deputies from the Caroline County Sheriff's Office responded to a disturbance call on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at approximately 7:11 a.m. The incident occurred in the 25000 block of Zacharias Mill Road in Greensboro, Caroline County, Maryland.

Upon arrival, deputies investigated a reported altercation between two males. The investigation revealed that Phillip Rue had stolen a work van from the victims driveway. Rue drove the vehicle a short distance before causing damage to it three times using a knife.

When the victim confronted Rue about the theft, Rue produced a knife and made verbal threats toward him. A physical altercation followed between the two men. No injuries were reported during the incident.

Rue was arrested at the scene and transported to the Caroline County Sheriff's Office for processing. He appeared before the Caroline County District Court Commissioner and was held without bond.
