Vehicle Fire Reported in Caroline County

Caroline County, MD - The Ridgely Volunteer Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire on September 11, 2025, at 2:33 P.M. The incident occurred in the 11000 block of Maplewood Drive in Ridgely, Caroline County, Maryland.

The fire involved a 2015 Nissan Ultima that was discovered by the owner. Twenty firefighters responded to the single-alarm incident and brought the fire under control within 15 minutes.

The fire originated in the driver's side engine compartment. Preliminary investigation indicates the cause was an electrical event in the area of the battery and driver's side headlight.

The estimated damage totaled $10,500, with vehicle damage assessed at $10,000 and contents damage at $500.
