VEHICLE PURSUIT IN REHOBOTH BEACH ENDS IN COLLISION AND ARREST

Rehoboth Beach, DE - On the evening of June 18, 2025, an incident involving a vehicle pursuit on Rehoboth Avenue concluded with a collision on Coastal Highway, according to reports from the Rehoboth Beach Police Department.
The pursuit began at approximately 7:32 PM when an officer observed a white Infiniti Q50 traveling westbound on Rehoboth Avenue at a speed exceeding the posted limit. Using radar, the officer confirmed the vehicle's elevated speed and activated their emergency lights in an attempt to initiate a traffic stop.
However, the driver, later identified as Isaiah L. Stokes, 18, of Magnolia, Delaware, failed to comply and instead accelerated to evade law enforcement.
The brief pursuit ended when the Infiniti collided with two uninvolved vehicles at the intersection of Coastal Highway and Shuttle Road. All individuals involved in the collision avoided serious harm.
Stokes received minor injury's and was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was treated and released shortly after. No additional injuries were reported by others affected in the crash.
Stokes was subsequently taken into custody and transported to the Rehoboth Beach Police Department.
Following his release from the hospital, officers obtained a warrant for his arrest with the following charges:
- Disregarding a Police Officer's Signal (Felony)
- Aggressive Driving (Misdemeanor)
- Reckless Driving (Misdemeanor)
- Driving at an Unreasonable or Imprudent Speed (Misdemeanor)
- Speeding in Excess of Posted Limits (Misdemeanor)
- Failure to Stop at a Red Light (Misdemeanor)
- Failure to Remain Within a Single Lane (Misdemeanor)
Isaiah L. Stokes was released on his own recognizance after being formally charged.
