Talbot County, MD - Antonio Lamont Bolden of Quantico, Maryland pled guilty to Attempted First Degree Murder in the Talbot County Circuit Court. He was sentenced to life with an active sentence of 35 years to serve in the Maryland Department of Corrections.

This incarceration will be followed by five years of supervised probation and a 15-year consecutive sentence from the Dorchester County Circuit Court. Bolden's sentence followed an extensive investigation by the Maryland State Police with assistance from the Talbot County Sheriff's Office, Dorchester County Sheriff's Office, and the Cambridge Police Department. Deputy State's Attorney Chelsea Endzel prosecuted the case.

On September 17, 2024, law enforcement was dispatched to the Freedom Fuel gas station located at 4123 Ocean Gateway in Trappe, Maryland. Officers responded to a report of an assault with a firearm.

Upon arrival, investigators observed the victim lying on the ground with a gunshot wound to the wrist and a large gunshot wound to the face. The victim was airlifted to shock trauma. After numerous surgeries, the victim survived and recovered from his injuries.

During the investigation, authorities learned that Bolden and the victim were coworkers. The date of the incident was Bolden's second day working for the company.

The victim reported that Bolden asked him to pull over at the Freedom Fuel gas station while they were driving to a jobsite in a company van. Upon parking, Bolden removed a handgun from his waistband and fired three to four shots at the victim.

The parties did not have any prior history. The victim was shot without any provocation or disagreement between them. After shooting the victim, Bolden removed him from the driver's seat of the vehicle and fled the scene.

He left the victim bleeding profusely on the ground of the gas station parking lot. Bolden was located shortly thereafter in Cambridge, Maryland.

He engaged in a short foot pursuit with local authorities and attempted to carjack another vehicle. Bolden was immediately taken into police custody.

Investigators located a .45-caliber handgun consistent with the weapon used during the Freedom Fuel shooting. Additional ammunition was also found on Bolden's person.
