Wicomico County, MD - The Wicomico County Department of Public Works has announced the temporary closure of the Parsonsburg Convenience Center Brush Pile due to capacity constraints. The closure follows the area's recent storm event, which generated significant volumes of brush and debris requiring disposal.

The Department continues to support roadside clean-up efforts in collaboration with State and local municipalities. Staff are also working with residents and tree removal and landscaping companies to manage brush recovery and disposal operations.

At this time, the Parsonsburg facility has reached full capacity and will remain closed until further notice.

Residents requiring brush disposal services are requested to visit the Newland Park Landfill Brick Kiln Road Brush Pile. The alternate location will serve the community while grinding operations work to process the influx of material at the Parsonsburg site.

Commercial entities providing for-hire brush, tree, or landscaping services must utilize the Newland Park Landfill scales for all transactions. These services are subject to a brush-in tipping fee of $44 per ton, with a minimum fee of $10.00 applicable to all loads.

The Department of Public Works will provide updates regarding the reopening of the Parsonsburg Convenience Center Brush Pile as operations progress.
